Honestly, the stuff is fab!
Came home and Herbie refused his pellets, tried to get him to eat but no. He was stretching out lying down and couldn't get comfy. Gave him a couple of syringes of gripe water and a belly rub for about an hour and he is now munching his pellets.
I could feel the gas in his tummy when I was rubbing his wee belly.
I thoroughly recommend the stuff!

Yep it's brilliant, I really panicked when they stopped production a couple of years ago, rabbit owners should not be without this liquid magic

A must have for a bunny 1st aid box!
It does say that you should use withing about 2weeks of opening, I have alwas wondered about this, cos I can't see how it could spoil.

It is fab, I always make sure I have some in
Re: Gripe Water really is the bees knees!
Maybe I'll get some in too although I always have Infacol here and have always used that for tummy ache/gas but can't help to have both I always try the Infacol first, if that doesn't work I am normally naughty and give metaclopromide, Ranitidine, and Metacam I usually have some left or try and keep some here for emergencies, then if that doesn't work off to the vets.
Re: Gripe Water really is the bees knees!
Bunlover and I use Infacol.
I think Gripe water used to have alcohol in it but doesn't now. whereas Infacol never had alcohol as it's a newer product. Gripe water has Dill seed oil in it , and Infacol has artificial sweeteners in it I believe so either one could be unsuitable for some bunnies re allergies.
....but whatever works for each bunny !!

Re: Gripe Water really is the bees knees!
How much gripe water can you give? Do you have to dilute it? I have only ever used Infacol in the past.
Re: Gripe Water really is the bees knees!
No, you don't dilute it. I give 2ml in a syringe when the issue 1st happens, then I give another 1ml every 4hours or so.....I give it for a couple of days after the incident too just to be sureRabswood wrote:How much gripe water can you give? Actually i used infacol, I thought it was the same - Doh!
My vet does give me metaclop tho and is happy for me to use it as and when I feel it is needed, so that tends to be my first port of call now

I use Metacam as a pain killer but use infacol (or now gripe water) for trapped wind or bloat/statis concerns I may have.Apache wrote:Actually i used infacol, I thought it was the same - Doh!
