Shae Honeybunny

We have had problems with lots of changes of vets at the practice we use, many have very little bunny knowledge :(
Last week one didn't know what to do with Shae as she had lumps around her anus. I suggested infected bite wounds as she had been in with other girls and had been fighting ( not with me I hasten to add) Vet said she thought not but had no idea..so I took Shae to a different practice and low and behold the vet think likely infected bite wounds and bun is now on anti Bs
Here is the little girl arriving home from vets

and back in her hutch..it was tidy about 11 am this morning but she loves to trash the place! :D

Hopefully the lumps will clear and then she can be speyed and find a new home

So worrying when you can't depend on your vet's knowledge :( ...glad you went for a second opinion. :) Hope Shae improves soon on the abx.

yep we have been with same vets for years but lately a really good bunny vet left and they seem to just have foreign locums ..many admit they have never been asked to treat many rabbits. So we are keeping fingers crossed the new permanent vet due in next 2 weeks is better or we will have to change practice :( For now we are using old one for vacs and one we have known of but not used regularly, for all else.

So glad you were able to get a proper diagnosis and she's responding to treatment, it's such a worry as there seem to be so few vets that specialise in rabbits :(
