Bonding still going well did 35 minutes today and Posy seemed much more relaxed in general in being in the pen with Jinx, she was hopping about and even layed down several times. Will keep at it as much as I can weather permitting and hopefully soon they'll be OK :-)

Maybe try putting one bowl of pellets in the pen at feeding time then hopefully they will eat together ? which is a social event for rabbits as they have to put their heads together.

Do you always put the same rabbit in the pen first each time? The one who goes in first should be the dominant one. You say Posy was happier on 9th July..which rabbit did you put into the pen first that day?... I would keep it the same.

Thanks Sue yes I'm trying to put Jinx in the pen first each time. Yesterday afternoon they were in the pen together for 45 minutes the longest date yet and were fine.

Naughty Jinx has also got into Daisy's half of the hutch a couple of times when I've had the front door open and they have been fine, although I picked him out and put him back into his half, they have the partition in down the middle of the hutch still, but are living in their own sides so I think I might start swapping them around now so they start to each associate living in all the hutch and slowly start putting them in one side together for a few minutes when both of their smells are in there.

I think Jinx is very keen to be with Posy all the time but I'm not confident yet that Posy won't start squabbling with him :)) :))

I think Posy is enjoying the attention
Shame she hasn't groomed him yet!

Unfortunately I have had to admit defeat on bonding Posy & Jinx after several months :(

I had the day off of work on Monday of last week to try and attempt the bonding once and for all and get them together, unfortunately this ended in disaster yet again they started fighting again after about 20 minutes, split them up and tried again but 5 minutes later they were fighting again :(

The trouble I've had is that Posy and Jinx both wanted to be the boss and neither has been prepared to back down. Posy has started all the fights usually when Jinx will not groom her she just goes for him and he fights back.

I tried everything I could think of and have read about but nothing worked and It was just not safe to leave them together ever. So I asked Sue at Southampton Rabbit Rescue for her advice as that is where Posy was adopted from and she said it would be best for Posy to go back to the Rescue, as unfortunately I do not have a spare hutch to be able to keep Posy in it on her own. She was living in one half of Jinx's hutch with a divider down the middle. My husband doesn't want me to have another hutch in the garden or any more rabbits so Posy has gone back to the Rescue, I am obviously very upset but have had to do what is best for both Jinx and Posy, it wasn't fair to keep them in only half the cage each, and Posy now has a 6ft cage to herself at the rescue and hopefully will be adopted by someone else either as a lone house bunny or perhaps to someone who has experience of bonding and a submissive bunny so that Posy can be the boss.

Jinx seems to be glad to have all of his hutch back and is not pining for Posy, I just wish I could say the same about me! :( I am very upset about it and feel really awful about taking her back especially as I've had her for a few months but I suppose some things just aren't meant to be :-( =((

Oh no :( I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. It sounds like it's for the best, such ashame when bonding doesn't work. I guess they just weren't meant to be :( x

Thanks Becky I just feel awful about taking Posy back and hope she finds a great new home soon. I will try bonding Jinx again when I come back my holidays if the Rescue have any suitable bunnies in at that time. I hope he will accept another wife bun as he was previously bonded to Daisy

I'm so sorry to hear this :(

Hopefully Posy will get a nice home as a house bunny or with a quiet partner.

I tried Alfred with several wives and gave up, I think some are happier on their own.

Oh I'm sorry to hear that Foofy. I guess it was just not meant to be. Maybe try Jinx will another girl?
I'm sure Posy will find a suitable home- with or without a partner bunny. in time :)
Try not to beat yourself up about it... clearly they liked each other as friends ...but no romance!

Thanks Sue, yes I think they liked each other as next door neighbours but not living together :( I am going away on holiday soon and am planning on trying Jinx with another girl when I get back (well thats providing the Rescue have suitable does in, if not I'm sure it won't take long for one to come in knowing how many are waiting to go into Rescue :( )
In the meantime I am bonding Peter with Ruby and I have a time limit on this one as they need to be living together by the time I go on holiday so they can go in the same cage when the Rescue board them for me whilst I'm away! :-s so far the bonding appears to be going OK luckily so fingers crossed for me!
