Charlie - 9 year old cat - Surrey

Charlie is a 9 year old cat who was bought into rescue after an emergency appeal went out for him.
He had been at a property for 9 years and although fed, nobody actually owned him and when he got sick, nobody was there to help him medically.
The main feeders then moved and left him there and he was dropped off at a vet by one of the residents to be euthanased.
Charlie needed to be castrated which was done at the vets he was dropped off to once a rescue space was secured. He had various medical issues seen to (detailed below) and he is now fighting fit and ready to move on to a loving home.

He had a greasy coat so we blood tested to check for kidney function. It was only because he was an entire tom up till then, but you can never be too careful.
FIV tested - tested negative.
Nasty ear infection treated and cured.
Had bad teeth - had a full dental and now they are sparkling clean.
Chunk of flesh out of the left hand side his head. Was a burst abscess. Had it cleaned up and a course of antibiotics and it healed up perfectly.
Pot belly, but once wormed that reduced and it is normal now.
Had a flea infestation, but Advocate sorted that out.
Claws and feet (he only has three feet_ are deformed. This doesn't make any difference to him.
Left front foot is missing. He had to have a claw removed that was sticking out the bottom.
Tail - a quarter of it missing. May have been born like this.
Temperament - very shy, but not aggressive. He will hide to begin with, but tempt him with food and he is your friend forever and he loves to be brushed which helps with the bonding process..
Appetite good. Ate all his food and is looking for more.
Body condition - now good. He was thin on arrival, but he has chunked out now!

If you would like to see photos of him when he arrived, you can see the photos here, however they aren't for the squeamish!

Charlie would like a quiet home without dogs, but he gets on great with other cats. He could live with older children as he is not aggressive, but only well behaved ones whose parents have taught them the rights and wrongs of animal handling.
He has little to no prey drive. At least he has shown no interest here.

Charlie would be happy as a house cat, but if allowed outside we will only home to very quiet roads...no main roads in the near vicinity.

Charlie has been castrated, fully vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea treated.

A minimum adoption fee of £40 applies and a homecheck will be carried out.
