Rescues - long termer thread
Re: Rescues - long termer thread
I'm bumping this up for the long- termers, who are longing for forever homes.
These bunnies are still in rescue at Windwhistle Warren
Golightly and Dora ( in rescue 3years) - overlooked as too ordinary
Mea & Mia (in rescue 2 years) - overlooked as lively
Jester & Suki (in rescue 1 year) - overlooked as Jester once had snuffles (pasturella)
details of these on the previous post on here
and at Alice's website http://www.windwhistlewarren.org.uk/adoptr.html
I hope they will all find homes soon.

Just to update this thread
Jester & Suki have found there forever home, Alice managed to bond them with another pair where the male was a french lop and the four went to live in a very large outside home.
Sadly Mea & Mia and Dora & Golightly are still waiting for their forever homes.

Gracie, one of our little female bunnies, has now been with us since July 2012 Gracie came to us as part of a large rescue. She is a medium sized bunny who we estimate to be around 18/24 months old. Gracie is very human friendly and adores human attention. She is happy to be fussed and is easy to handle. Gracie is a very laid back, easy going bunny who will make someone a fantastic companion. Sadly Gracie does have snuffles. Her snuffles aren't severe at the moment, she has had 2 courses of anx injections since being in care with us and both times this helped. Gracie's nose is currently clear but she does occassionally sneeze and does have the dry wetness inside her paws from wiping her nose. Gracie has been neutered, fully vaccinated and wormed. She really would make a fantastic pet, we are ideally looking to rehome her either as a single house rabbit, or with a friend who already has snuffles.

Re: Rescues - long termer thread
These girls have been with us since August!
I really don't know why They are pretty, friendly, adore attention from people and are well bonded with each other. They really deserve to be in a home now.
Alice and Flint are two year old lops who are looking for a home.
They have come into rescue as their hutch broke in their old home and the owners didn't want to replace it. They both had litters in their old home, but that ends now as they have been spayed, vaccinated, wormed and seen by our vet.
They arrived with a fairly bad mite infestation, but have now received treatment.
These girls are really friendly and into everything!
We ask for a minimum adoption fee of £35 each.

Re: Rescues - long termer thread
This is Munchkin (left) and Marshall who came into rescue in Sept 12
Munchkin is a 2 year old dwarf lop and Marshall is a year and a half old mini lop. The previous owner bred Munchkin a few times with another male, the male they had was eaten by a fox so they got Marshall. They have come into rescue because the previous owner told me her children had outgrown them.
Marshall was underweight arrival his fur was matted together with urine. He has now had a wash and groom and is looking much happier. He is now the correct weight.
Marshall has a wonderful nature and is very friendly. Munchkin guards her hutch so we are looking for an experienced owner to help her.
Munchkin and Marshall need a home together. They have been neutered, vaccinated, wormed and seen by our vet.
We ask for a minimum adoption fee of £35 each.
We have made them a Facebook page;

Re: Rescues - long termer thread
This is Nemo & Claudia, two Polish cross bunnies (so teeny tiny), brother and sister, found dumped in a box. They've been at The Rabbit Residence since 2008! That's not a typo, they really are into their SIXTH year of being in rescue. We need to get these two out into a home. They're healthy but a bit shy of handling, will come up to you to see what you're doing but not big on being stroked. Would be great in a lovely big outdoor set up and bunny parents who just want to watch their cheeky antics!

These two are Jester & Sahara and have been at Rabbit Residence since 2009. They are brother and sister, Lionhead crosses, and born in 2008. Jester had to have his incisors removed due to dental disease but his molars are in good condition. He needs veg grating but eats pellets and hay normally. Jester is the white Lionhead.

Some beautiful rabbits So sad the amount of time they have spent in rescue, its horrible how some bunnies get overlooked through no fault of their own

A sad update from Windwhistle Warren.
Dora passed away on Tuesday leaving a lonely Golightly. Alice might try and bond him with Mea & Mia and have them as sponsor bunnies.
