This entry is on behalf of Marias Animal Shelter

Marias Animal Shelter would like to enter Benji this month. When Benji came into us he had serious issues with his back legs, and was covered in cheyletiella mites. Poor Benji couldn’t even hop into a shallow litter tray, or use a ramp. He had come from a place where he had lived in one of those awful indoor cages. The vet said that the weakness could be due to where he had been living. As he wasn’t able to use his back legs to exercise, he had no muscles. Luckily this was the issue and it is amazing to now see him zooming around the shelter and he literally flies up the steps and is soo happy. The mites have taken a long time to eradicate but he is also mite free now :)

THIS ENTRY IS ON BEHALF OF HALFPENNY FARM ANIMAL SANCTUARY

Halfpenny Farm Animal Sanctuary would like to nominate Butterbur in her memory. She was rescued in a trio, when their hutch was set on fire in Aberdeen a couple of years ago. She and her friend Sage had a very happy life at Halfpenny. However, she sadly went downhill with her health last week and the vet found an incurable tumour growing in her intestines; we had to let her go. We all miss her very much, especially Sage.
