As we have now announced the winner of the Rescue Rabbit/Guinea Pig of the month for January - Holly & Ivy from RSPCA Walsall, see their story by clicking on the link below.

We are now opening up this thread for entries for the February Rescue Rabbit/Guinea Pig of the Month.

All our Rescues are welcome to enter, even if you have won before. Your entry must include the animal/s story and at least 1 photo (but more is good

), you have until midnight on 31st January to get your entries in here. Entries can only be accepted from the Rescues/Sanctuaries that Pledge a Pound supports, and must be placed as a reply to this thread.

Only one entry per Rescue please.

Your entry can be a single rabbit or guinea pig, or it can be a pair or group that live together.

The winner will be chosen by the Pledge a Pound Team at the beginning of February.

The winner will receive a prize of items to be sent to the Rescue such as Panacur, Fibreplex, critical care, etc and similar things that all rabbit/guinea pig Rescues use/need. The prize for February is 1 tube of Panacur and 1 bag of Oxbow Natural Science Digestive Supporttablets.

If anyone needs help uploading photos to the forum please let me know.

Sophia came into Windwhistle's care as her owner could not afford the vet bills. She appeared to have broken her front leg, and following a x-ray, it was discovered she had 2 fractures. She was then booked in to have her leg amputated. This little bunny is only 8 months ago and full of 'Sass' and was coping well on her 3 remaining legs. She was making a brilliant recovery but this week she has been struggling.

Introducing Logan from Warwickshire Rabbit & Guinea Pig SOS.

Logan came to us via a Vet in Sutton Coldfield, the vet contacted us as Logan had been signed over to them by his owner and they therefore began the search for a rescue space.

Logan was bought to the vet as him and his companion (maybe brother) did not seen to be getting on and Logan had been limping for a few days so the owner thought he had hurt his leg......

As you can see from the pictures, this was very obviously an injury that Logan had had for some time as the whole foot was actually missing!

The vet had to amputate the leg...

Logan is now safely at the rescue meeting new friends

The Pledge a Pound Team have now chosen the winner of the Rescue Rabbit of the Month for February and it's Sophia from Windwhistle Warren,

Goodness! How sad.
I hope both Sophia and Logan cope with 3 legs in the future.
an extremely difficult choice for the team this month but well done to Windwhistle.
